GMR has one of the best equipped shops in Canada. 69,000 square feet encompassing a full machine shop and fabrication division as well as a diverse program of electrical products. GMR's shop has hoist capacity of 50 tons, vacuum pressure impregnation up to 10 ft for high quality and control on insulating varnish, computerized dynamic balancing, temperature and pollution controlled burnout ovens, 5000 hp dynamometer load testing, CNC lathes and machining center, ten large capacity lathes, horizontal/vertical boring mills, robotic welding, fully equipped rewind shop, large sandblasting and paint booth, wash bay able to dry ice blast and more. GMR has specially trained service technicians to conduct on or off site vibration analysis, balancing, laser alignment, motor and drive commissioning, thermography, and PdMA testing.
