Northern Resource Trucking was founded in 1986 by Kitsaki Development Corporation (Lac La Ronge Indian Band) and Trimac Transportation, in order to provide for the transportation of commodities to the mining industry in Northern Saskatchewan. In September 1994, NRT restructured to a limited partnership by and through its general partner, NRT Holdings Corporation, in order to increase the ownership of First Nation Bands and Métis communities throughout Northern Saskatchewan. Today we are a 71% aboriginal owned company. The partnership includes Kitsaki Management L.P. 30%, Trimac Transportation Services 29%, Waterfound Development Corp (Fond du Lac, Black lake and Hatchet Lake Bands) 20% and seven 3% partners, Clearwater Development Corp., Buffalo Narrows Development Corp., Des Nedhe Development Corp., Sakitawak Development Corp., Montreal Lake Development, Peter Ballantyne Developments L.P. and Cumberland House Development Corp.

NRT, with its head office in Saskatoon, Sk. is licensed to haul in Canada including the northern territories. We haul all types of commodities, both bulk and freight. Our bulk haul commodities includes fuel, propane and NH3, molten sulfur, acids, caustic, hydrogen peroxide and dry bulk pneumatic. For freight hauling, we have vans (Reefer, Heated and Dry), flat decks, step decks, B train flat decks and container chassis. Our heavy haul equipment includes winch trucks and multi axle configurations with jeeps, boosters up to 10 axle and 48 wheeler, RGN’s, scissor necks, D.D. and trombones for over dimensional and heavy haul loads. Our services include in house logistics and hauling, as well as permits and pilot vehicles.

Our facility in LaRonge, Sk. is home to the NRT Truck Driver Training School. We offer 8 and 12 week training programs with SGI certified instructors.

We are the IOL Esso branded reseller based in LaRonge, we supply lubes, land and flight fuels to various customers in northern Saskatchewan. We can pick up from suppliers in Ab. and Sk. for direct delivery to northern locations on provincial highways, seasonal roads, off road and ice road.
