TRAINING

All Overhead Travelling Crane and Rigging training courses below can be held at Rigging Plus in Saskatoon or onsite at your location with the use of our mobile training unit. Rigging Plus supplies all rigging, lifting apparatus and classroom materials. Lunch is provided when held at our facility. Courses may accommodate up to 12 people with group rates available.

OVERHEAD TRAVELLING CRANE AND RIGGING – COMPETENT OPERATOR < 50 TONNES – Duration: 40 hr (4 or 5 day)

Course is constructed to meet the requirements for Competent Operator of a Crane as per the Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety Regulations (OHS), Part 13 Clause 13-6(1) and Table 13 Parts I & II in the Appendix. This is our flagship program that includes all the training listed in our rigging and hoisting course along with all SK OHS requirements to for Competent Operator of an Overhead Travelling Crane < 50 tonnes. This course consists of 30% classroom theory and 70% practical training.

OVERHEAD TRAVELLING CRANE AND RIGGING – COMPETENT WORKER < 5 TONNES – Duration: 8 hr (1 day)

Course is constructed to meet the requirements for Competent Worker of a Crane as per Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (OHS), Part 13 Clause 13-6(5)(b) and Table 13 Part I in the Appendix. The 1 Day course consists of 50% classroom theory and 50% practical training.

BASIC RIGGING AND HOISTING - 8 hrs (1 DAY)

Course is constructed to meet the requirements of Saskatchewan OHS Regulations Part 14: Rigging and other applicable industry standards. Topics include safe rigging practices, application and inspection of rigging slings, hardware, chain/lever hoists, and below the hook lifting devices along with sling tension calculations, load weight estimations, finding the center of gravity, signaling, tagline knot tying and more. This course consists of 50% classroom theory and 50% practical training.
